Meet the team
Teresa Sulok, Executive Director
Teresa comes to Heartis Village North Shore with 10 years of Administrator/Executive Director experience in the senior living field.
Motivated by the joy she could bring to residents, Teresa began her career in 2005 as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA). She felt fulfilled as she helped and advocated for the residents and earned their trust. Her dedication and her commitment to excellence allowed her to grow into management positions within senior living communities. Teresa is also a subject matter expert in Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS) regulations that provide oversight for our state’s Assisted Living communities. She holds an Assisted Living administrator certification and is a certified CBRF training instructor for the state of Wisconsin.
When not at Heartis, Teresa enjoys spending time with her husband, two sons, and fur children Jasper, Toby, and Chloe. She also enjoys crafting and getting outdoors to soak up sunshine.
Harper Johansen, Vibrant Life Director
Harper joins our team at Heartis North Shore with over five years of experience as an Activity Coordinator within a Senior Living community. She is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and is a certified Dementia Specialist. Harper’s love for spending time with seniors developed at an early age. Her mother worked in hospice care, and the time Harper spent interacting with older individuals confirmed her passion for serving senior communities. She enjoys planning group activities for our residents as well as connecting with them during one-on-one engagement sessions.
Harper grew up in Cedarburg, WI, with four siblings. Her family has since relocated to the Rocky Mountains, so she loves spending vacation time out in the mountain air with her many nieces and nephews. While out west, she also enjoys challenging hikes. Closer to home, Harper enjoys soaking up Chicago’s cultural scene on the weekends and watching movies.
Daniel Luna, Culinary Service Director
Chef Daniel ensures that our residents enjoy healthy cuisine at every meal. Daniel joined Heartis in 2018 and was promoted to Executive Chef in 2021. He has studied extensively with fine chefs in Chicago, and he attributes his skill and love of French, Italian, and Spanish cuisines to this training. Daniel’s hometown of Puebla, Mexico, is also represented in one of his favorite dishes to make, chicken mole. When Daniel is not in the kitchen at Heartis North Shore, he may be delighting our residents by playing our baby grand piano. He also plays piano at his church and enjoys time with his wife and two children.
Angie Mehring, Director of Sales & Marketing
Angie comes to Heartis North Shore with more than 25 years of experience in the hospitality and relocation industries. She spent a decade in sales at Marriott Hotels and was a Corporate Sales Manager at The Pfister Hotel for five years. Most recently, Angie worked at her family’s moving business, where she was inspired to shift her focus to helping guide seniors through the relocation process. In addition to helping residents live vibrant lives, Angie enjoys quality time with her family and friends, spending time outdoors, cooking, and reading.
Barb George, Director of Sales & Marketing
Barb comes to us with over 24 years of sales and marketing experience in the healthcare field. After graduating from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee with a bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, she’s led a successful career in the pharmaceutical/medical device, occupational healthcare, and senior living industries. Barb’s passion for senior living began in college while working as a caregiver at a skilled nursing community, where she also learned to value the wisdom of our elderly. Barb loves working with seniors and treasures time with her own 91-year-old mother. In her spare time, Barb volunteers for a local dog rescue and spends time with her daughter, other family members, and her golden retriever, Bella.
Joe Cannizzo, Building Service Director
Joe has served senior living communities with his wide range of trade skills for over three years. He is passionate about completing work for the residents because of the smiles he receives from them in return. When not working in our community, Joe enjoys spending time with family and working on his own cars. He also loves being outdoors, hunting, and relaxing by a nice fire on his deck.
