Memory Care: What is it?

A memory care environment provides special support for people living with Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia. In these communities, the team works closely with residents to monitor their health and well-being while also providing a sense of purpose. They use special programs, events, and activities that help memory care residents interact positively with their environment and function at the highest level possible—and have fun doing it.

Heartis® Senior Living Memory Care Communities

At Heartis communities, we provide a safe, vibrant, and engaging atmosphere specifically designed to encourage a sense of community and security for residents with Alzheimer’s disease or dementia.

Our amenities cater to the specific needs of our residents. Enclosed courtyards with walking paths and raised gardens provide the sense of serenity that comes with communing with nature, while art and music programs stimulate creativity and a sense of achievement. And when they want some pampering, all they have to do is visit one of our salons.

Customized Programs

Memory care programming is also integrated into every aspect of our care and services, allowing residents to thrive in their environment. Because each resident’s life experiences and needs are unique, the one-on-one programs are adapted to the individual. We learn about their interests and abilities, then build a personalized approach that honors their legacy, passions, and preferences. In addition, we offer support groups and family education programs for loved ones.

Care Teams

Our teams of compassionate, highly trained professionals assist residents with meals, medication management, bathing, dressing, and grooming whenever needed. They also help residents maintain current skills while encouraging feelings of belonging each and every day. Their job is to get to know residents individually, because the more familiar we are, the more we can do to positively impact their health and well-being. And you can rest easy knowing that the registered nurse on staff is available seven days a week.

Some of our residents prefer private studios, while others need a shared suite. No matter their accommodations, every Heartis memory care resident is part of a nurturing neighborhood full of uplifting and engaging experiences.
