They take the time to connect with community members and their families because the better they know the residents, the better equipped they are to monitor and positively affect their health, well-being, and safety.

Meet the team
John Wiman, Executive Director
John is a Nebraska native with a strong passion for serving others. He started his career in retail leadership, where he developed plans and processes to better support the communities and teams he served. After 19 years, John was given the opportunity to serve the greatest generation: Seniors. He became a Certified Director of Assisted Living and has been successfully assisting seniors and their families for the past seven years. John’s off hours are filled with sports, from rooting for his kids’ teams to watching football, baseball, and basketball to playing golf.
Crystal Bryant, Business Office Director
Every day, Crystal is grateful for the chance to visit and share a laugh with residents. This love for working with seniors and their families started five years ago at her first job in a memory care community. Since day one, Crystal’s desire to help and serve has only grown as she gained more knowledge and understanding of how Alzheimer’s affects so many lives. When away from her Heartis Brookfield family, Crystal spends time with her three amazing daughters, mother, and friends. She also enjoys bowling, playing volleyball, reading, and shopping.
Stephanie Ruffi, Senior Director of Sales and Marketing
While in college, Stephanie started her career working the front lines of caregiving. Over the past 10 years, her roles have ranged from assisted living, memory care, and home care to hospital settings and real estate. Stephanie’s journey led her to sales and marketing, where she gets to focus on working with families, understanding where they are and where they want to be, and helping them get there. In her personal time, she focuses on her daughter and family, volunteers in the community, and attends sporting events. Stephanie is also an Alzheimer’s Advocate and part of the coalition to help create a Dementia Friendly Elmbrook in Waukesha County.
Cheryl Weink, Director of Sales and Marketing
Cheryl’s varied roles over the past 25 years have all had one common thread: a connection with seniors. Whether it be in independent living, assisted living, memory care, or in the banking industry, it has always been Cheryl’s desire to be a bright light in families’ lives during their transitional phases. Outside of the Heartis community, you’ll find Cheryl being active with her three children, friends, volunteering, baking, bicycling, exploring new places, and watching sports.
Karen Greibenow, Vibrant Life Director
Karen is a proud Wisconsin native who spent 20 years in the interior design industry. Seven years ago, she started working with seniors and immediately gravitated toward activities. She is dedicated to setting the standard for purposeful programming and creating an environment that enriches socialization and connection. When she’s not enriching the lives of residents, Karen heads up to northern Wisconsin to spend time with her two sons and three granddaughters.
Lori Rosenwald, Generations Program Director
Lori brings diverse experience and a wealth of knowledge to Heartis Brookfield. Her career started as an elementary art teacher before moving to mothering, ministry, caring for elderly family, and serving in various roles at assisted living and skilled nursing communities. Lori is grateful for her senior living journey and the opportunity to share her zest for life with residents and team members. She enjoys spending time with her three adult children and two grandchildren, attending church study groups, reading, skiing, and watching figure skating.
Justin Fuchs, Culinary Services Director
For the past 15 years, Justin has explored every corner of the culinary industry. He worked in restaurants and country clubs, then shifted his focus to serving and establishing meaningful connections with seniors. Justin is passionate about making great meals that recreate homestyle classics and bring residents together. Outside the kitchen, Justin enjoys watching sports and spending time outside (like any true Midwesterner).
Jerry Cler, Building Services Director
Jerry joined Heartis Brookfield a year ago to oversee our housekeeping department and keep the building in great shape. Before that, he spent 20 years in digital printing and retail merchandising, where he was responsible for production processes, training, and educating adults with disabilities to prepare them for community employment. When Jerry isn’t assisting residents or their families, he can usually be found hunting, fishing, golfing, biking, or cheering for his Wisconsin sports teams.
