Our team is comprised of highly qualified and experienced individuals who are passionate about providing supportive care in an inspiring environment. They take the time to connect with community members and their families because the better they know the residents, the better equipped they are to monitor and positively affect their health, well being, and safety. From living options and health services to events and dining, if you have questions, they have answers.
Meet the team
Diane Gill, RN, Resident Care Director
Diane is a registered nurse whose practice is based on the “Mother Standard.” This means that she treats her patients, residents, and their families just as she would want her own family treated. Diane upholds the belief that patient care is a nurse’s first priority, and her entire career reflects this practice.
Although she has worn many hats during her nursing career, Diane specialized in cardiology at Jefferson Hospital in Center City and oncology at Cancer Treatment Centers of America. For the past seven years, she has continued to adhere to the Mother Standard as Director of Nursing at two Senior Living communities.
Diane’s door is always open, and she encourages residents and families to stop by and let her know how she can provide excellent care.
Maureen Engstrom, Vibrant Life Director
Maureen joins our team with over six years of experience working with seniors at home and in continuing care communities. She believes physical activity, mental engagement, and frequent social interaction are vital elements for healthy aging.
A native of Pittsburgh, Maureen has lived in Bucks County for 20 years. She and her husband, Scott, have four children and a dog. She is excited to be a part of the hardworking activities team at Heartis Bucks County and to ensure each and every resident lives a Vibrant Life.
Thomas Andrews, Culinary Services Director
Chef Thomas comes to Heartis Bucks County with over 20 years of food industry experience in Senior Living communities. His passion for cooking began in his grandmother’s humble kitchen. He was raised by a hardworking single mother and spent time learning from his grandmother as she created savory Southern dishes for 16 grandchildren every night. Early on, Thomas loved practicing different cooking techniques and was inspired by food’s ability to tell a story, express cultures, and bring people together. In his position as Culinary Services Director, Thomas continues his dedication to creating nourishing food and to his family heritage.
Morgan Hack, Director of Sales and Marketing
Morgan is a hardworking and passionate sales professional. She began her career in senior care, gained experience in chemical sales, and is excited and empowered to make a difference in her new role in our community.
When not at Heartis Bucks County, Morgan enjoys hiking, cooking, and reading. She is looking forward to sharing these interests with our residents.
Maureen Robertson, Director of Sales and Marketing
Maureen loves having the opportunity to serve seniors and their families and has been doing so for over 16 years. She hails from the Philadelphia-Bucks County area, and attended Philadelphia College of Art. She has also studied with well-known dementia experts and uses this experience to help families through challenges and successes.
Maureen enjoys traveling and learning about other cultures. Her love for her family is a large part of her life, and she says she makes sure to celebrate life every day.
LaVerne Sumner, Generations Program Director
LaVerne has devoted more than 25 years to the healthcare field, and she is a member of the National Council of Certified Dementia Practitioners. She is excited to bring her skill and passion to all the residents and families of Heartis Bucks County.
LaVerne was born and raised in Philadelphia. When not serving our residents, her variety of pastimes includes reading, music, and family fun time.
Gail Pe’ay, Business Office Director
Since 1996, Gail has served Senior Living communities in a variety of roles, including Personal Care Coordinator, Director of Administrative Services, Business Office Director, and Executive Director of both Personal Care and Assisted Living. She is pleased to be working within an incredibly knowledgeable team with decades of experience. Her goal is to add joy and meaning to others’ lives while creating an environment of trust, respect, and safety.
In addition to her role at Heartis Bucks County, Gail is also a wife, mother of four, grandmother, and student. She is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Healthcare Administration. She enjoys time with family and friends, shopping, and traveling.
Shawn Johnson, Building Services Director
Shawn has 30 years of experience in various positions at Assisted Living communities. He is dedicated to ensuring all residents are happy, safe, and comfortable in their homes. When not working at Heartis Bucks County, he enjoys playing hockey, attending sporting events, and spending time with his wife, son, and two Labrador retrievers.
