Meet the team

Jennifer Armagost, Executive Director
From an early age, Jennifer felt that serving seniors was her calling and passion. She has now worked with seniors and their families for over 25 years. Originally from the Mayfair section of Northeast Philadelphia, Jennifer attended Penn State University to study human development and family studies with a focus on adult development and aging. She then settled in Bucks County, married and began her career in senior living.
As our executive director, Jennifer is dedicated to partnering with her professional team to ensure the safety, comfort, quality care and compassion all seniors deserve. She is excited to be joining the Heartis Bucks County family, and she is inspired to embrace and enrich the culture each day.
Outside of Heartis, she enjoys watching movies with her husband and three boys, cooking, reading, cheering on the Phillies and Eagles, and tending to her chickens.

Angela Woods, R.N., Resident Care Director
Angela Woods, the Resident Care director for Heartis Bucks County, has worked in health care for 30 years. The last 15 of those years Angela spent as a registered nurse. Originally from Kansas, Angela made the Philadelphia area her home after serving in the U.S. Navy as a hospital corpsman for 12 years.
As the Resident Care director, Angela’s top priority is making sure all residents are thriving and living their best lives. She has an open-door policy and encourages residents and family members alike to come to her with whatever care needs and questions they may have.

Maureen Engstrom, Vibrant Life® Director
Maureen joins our team with over six years of experience working with seniors at home and in continuing care communities. She believes physical activity, mental engagement and frequent social interaction are vital elements for healthy aging.
A native of Pittsburgh, Maureen has lived in Bucks County for 20 years. She and her husband, Scott, have four children and a dog. She is excited to be a part of the hardworking activities team at Heartis Bucks County and to ensure each and every resident lives a Vibrant Life®.

Morgan Hack, Director of Sales and Marketing
Morgan is a hardworking and passionate sales professional. She began her career in senior care, gained experience in chemical sales, and is excited and empowered to make a difference in her new role in our community.
When not at Heartis Bucks County, Morgan enjoys hiking, cooking and reading. She is looking forward to sharing these interests with our residents.

Maureen Robertson, Director of Sales and Marketing
Maureen loves having the opportunity to serve seniors and their families and has been doing so for over 16 years. She hails from the Philadelphia-Bucks County area, and attended Philadelphia College of Art. She has also studied with well-known dementia experts and uses this experience to help families through challenges and successes.
Maureen enjoys traveling and learning about other cultures. Her love for her family is a large part of her life, and she says she makes sure to celebrate life every day.

LaVerne Sumner, Generations Program Director
LaVerne has devoted more than 25 years to the health care field, and she is a member of the National Council of Certified Dementia Practitioners. She is excited to bring her skill and passion to all the residents and families of Heartis Bucks County.
LaVerne was born and raised in Philadelphia. When not serving our residents, her variety of pastimes includes reading, music and family fun time.

Thomas Andrews, Culinary Services Director
Chef Thomas comes to Heartis Bucks County with over 20 years of food industry experience in senior living communities. His passion for cooking began in his grandmother’s humble kitchen. He was raised by a hardworking single mother and spent time learning from his grandmother as she created savory Southern dishes for 16 grandchildren every night. Early on, Thomas loved practicing different cooking techniques and was inspired by food’s ability to tell a story, express cultures and bring people together. In his position as Culinary Services director, Thomas continues his dedication to creating nourishing food and to his family heritage.

Shawn Johnson, Building Services Director
Shawn has 30 years of experience in various positions at assisted living communities. He is dedicated to ensuring all residents are happy, safe and comfortable in their homes. When not working at Heartis Bucks County, he enjoys playing hockey, attending sporting events, and spending time with his wife, son and two Labrador retrievers.

Jenn Perkins, Business Office Director
Jenn Perkins joins the Heartis Bucks County team as the Business Office director. She has over 20 years of health care administration experience and eight years of experience within the senior living industry. Her passion for seniors started when she cared for her own grandparents, to whom she owes her work ethic. Jenn is eager to continue her career here at Heartis Bucks County, and she is very confident that the management team shares the same passion.
Jenn was born and raised in Yonkers, N.Y., but has called Bucks County home for the last decade. She is a proud single mother of three beautiful children.
